Lendrum Eyecare is located in south Edmonton, a quick two-minute drive north of Southgate Mall on 111 Street. We have the pleasure of having some great neighbours in the strip mall where we are located, including J’Adore Dance and Sunterra.
Dr. Kelsey Ford
Owner & Optometrist
Dr. Kelsey Ford graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2000. In 2003, Dr. Ford moved to Edmonton with her husband Dr. Michael Joljart to start their family. Their son Gibson was born in 2003 and their daughter Sydney joined the family in 2004.
Dr. Ford has been actively seeing patients part-time in the Edmonton area since 2003, but decided to open her own practice in 2012 as a way to better serve the needs of her patients. Answering questions and helping patients understand their exam is a passion of Dr. Ford’s. She is currently taking new patients and welcomes all to her practice.
Dr. Ford is dedicated to keeping your eyes healthy and seeing well – this means staying up to date on current medical trends. She has studied under the OMNI eye services in Chattanooga, Tennessee for advanced eye disease. The rotation included Glaucoma, Cataracts, and Macular Degeneration evaluation.
She is also an avid outdoor enthusiast. You can find her biking, running, or walking around Edmonton and our beautiful river valley.
Dr. Bob Champion
Dr. Bob Champion loves practicing optometry in the neighbourhood that he has considered home for most of his life. He grew up on the south side of Edmonton and represented the Yellowbird community for over 12 years in various community sports. Dr. Champion and his wife Karen have two wonderful young children, Jaxon and Risa.
Prior to graduating with his optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2013, Dr. Champion lived in Africa for nearly two years, devoting his time there to volunteering. His volunteer role allowed him to distribute used glasses to those who needed them most. Seeing the impact that providing clear vision to those in need influenced Dr. Champion’s decision to become an optometrist.
Dr. Mike Joljart
Dr. Mike Joljart grew up in Edmonton and graduated from Pacific University in 2000. He focuses his optometry on primary eye care, and has extensive experience working with contact lenses. This includes contact lenses for astigmatism, bifocal contact lenses, and working with patients who have dry eyes. He has also gained a wealth of knowledge seeing patients who are over 65 years of age. This often includes more specific issues such as macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eyes, and other diseases that are more common in the senior population.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Joljart enjoys being outdoors. He especially enjoys biking, ideally in the mountains. He loves to be with his family, which includes his wife Dr. Kelsey Ford, their two great kids, and two cuddly dogs.
Dr. Joljart is currently not seeing patients at Lendrum Eyecare. See him at our sister location, Doctors Eyecare.
Dr. Katherine Krol
Dr. Krol was born and raised in Edmonton and is also a Pacific University, College of Optometry alumnus, graduating in 2015. She is very passionate about eye care. Dr. Krol has experience working alongside ophthalmologists in a surgical setting providing pre and post-surgical care. She is currently accepting new patients and provides care to patients of all ages. Dr. Krol practices full scope optometry including the treatment of dry eye, ocular disease, and the fitting of contact lenses.
When out of the office you can often find her in the mountains, out and about with her dog Julep, or trying one of the city’s newest restaurants.
Cassie grew up on the Northside of Edmonton and has worked in the optical field for 10 years. She graduated from NAIT with a Chemical Engineering Technology Diploma but found that she loved working the optical field and decided to pursue her career in optical instead! Cassie’s favourite part of the job is getting to know everyone and hearing everyone’s unique stories. She is always ready to help you out during your visit at the office!
Krystyna brings a wealth of optical knowledge and experience to the Lendrum Eyecare team. With over 30 years in the industry, Krystyna has been part of virtually every step in the process from lens coating and tinting to edging and dispensing. She has a flair for eyewear and a passion for her work.
Krystyna is originally from Polan and immigrated to Canada in 1987. She is the proud mother of two and enjoys spending her time with friends and family.
Frame Stylist & Optometric Assistant
Maddy was born and raised here in Edmonton on the south side. She is currently a student at MacEwan University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree. While she doesn’t have a strong prescription, she is a glasses addict! She has over ten pairs and has only been with us for a year. Maddy really enjoys helping people find their best glasses match but also strives for everyone to step out of their comfort zone and choose a more bold option! She has a very optimistic personality and tries to put a smile on everyone’s face.
Frame Stylist & Optometric Assistant
Susana was born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She then moved to Edmonton in 2014 for education in aesthetics and to experience a “bigger” city lifestyle. Susana instantly found a job as an Optometric Assistant and fell in love with learning the medical side of Optometry. She has been working as an Optometric Assistant since. Susana enjoys patient care, is ready to help anyone, and wants to grow in this field of work as best she can. When not at work Susana loves to spend quality time with close family and friends.
Frame Stylist & Optometric Assistant
Jasmin was born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She moved to Edmonton in 2014 for education in Social work. Along with her studies, she found a part-time job as an optometrist assistant. She graduated with a Social Work Diploma upon finishing her studies. She was offered a full-time position and deciding to give it a try. She found that she enjoyed learning about the medical side to optometry and has worked in the field ever since. Jasmin loves interacting with patients and is always ready to help.
